No democracies are perfect in the world, they are either fair or flaw, western democracy is supposed to be a fair democracy, Asian and African democracy has serious flaws, they have serious institutional conflict, and there are some countries where the democracy is being managed by the authoritarian like, Russia, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan (military dictatorship), etc. The democracies which are supposed to be fair are actually unfair, they are being heavily managed by elites and corporate globalization, and thus they can be described as by the people, for the elites and corporations.
A threatening pattern for democracy is evolving throughout the world, elites and capitalist are getting control over it, voices of proletariats are being suppressed, they are losing its sovereignty over government and the resources of the country, although the working class is existing as a majority in any country and plays important role in democracy, but the government selected by them eventually starts serving the elites or capitalist. They are putting huge effort to manage the democracy by their muscles and money power, they fund the election campaign of the candidates with millions of million dollars, and they support the democracy to earn support for their own projects. The candidates, who get more funds, are able to proceed for the election, and the one who has great intention to serve the people, lags behind in getting funds, are getting screened out, so one can understand who is responsible for the first level of screening, you can compare this to a strong vetting system of Iran by Guardian council.
Elites and corporate globalization are another reason for the erosion of democratic institution, they are directly or indirectly intervening in the democracy of other sovereign nations, the transnational corporation present in the host nation influences the government decision making, and they put the immense effort to bend the government in their interest using the local elites and corporations.
Elites and corporates have created a very strong coalition to undermine the democratic values inside the country and overseas, elites are the part of the government in most of the democracy, they create space for corporates using strong lobby, corporations fund them to stay in the system to fulfill their goal, and they serve their mutual benefits. This is the important reason for the socialist uprising in the western democracy, people in Europe want their country back from European Union which is greatly managed by elites and corporates, proletariats had voted for Brexit not the elite, the rise of Donald Trump was also such example.
Democratic institutions must be freed from elites and Giant Corporation before the situation gets deteriorated, their funding system must be on notice during the election, election commission should implement a robust system to check their maligned activities.
